DC Doda Inaugurates New J&K Bank ATM at Ghat

Distributes PM Vishwakarma Benefits to Artisans

Doda, December 10: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh (IAS), today inaugurated a newly installed J&K Bank ATM at Ghat (Doda), marking a significant step towards improving banking convenience and promoting digital financial inclusion for residents of the area.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Branch Manager of J&K Bank Ghat, along with other senior officers and staff members of the bank and local administration.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of J&K Bank for expanding its financial infrastructure into rural and remote parts of the district. He said that the availability of ATM services would greatly benefit local residents, reducing travel time and ensuring easier access to essential banking services, including cash withdrawals, balance inquiries, and other digital transactions.

On the same occasion, the DC distributed benefits under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to eligible beneficiaries. He highlighted that the scheme has been launched to uplift traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing skill development training, modern tools, easy credit facilities, and improved market access. These initiatives aim to support artisans in strengthening their livelihoods, enhancing their skills, and moving towards financial self-reliance.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all beneficiaries to utilize government livelihood schemes effectively and assured full support from the district administration in promoting entrepreneurship, employment generation, and inclusive development in the district.

The event was well received by local residents and beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude to the administration and J&K Bank for extending essential services to their area.
